California Surgeon Touched By Ishmael Cuts Hours, Becomes More Active with Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

Dr. Jerry Vlasak is a board-certified general surgeon, currently involved in the practice of trauma surgery and critical care in southern California. He began his career in private practice, working morning until night with no vacations for 5 years. Near the end of this time, Ishmael was recommended to him by a friend and drastically altered his way of thinking. He had also read some books on simplifying one's life, consuming less so working less, and his mind was fertile for Quinn's ideas.

In an effort to climb further over the walls of Mother Culture, Dr. Vlasak closed his practice, and now works 6-8 days per month, freeing up a large amount of time. With this newfound free time, Vlasak now spends a significant part of his days volunteering with a group called Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, which advocates healthy lifestyles to prevent dis-ease, as well as more compassionate forms of medical research.

You may email Dr Vlasak, or he can be reached at:

Jerry W. Vlasak, MD, FACS
171 Pier Avenue #453
Santa Monica, CA 90405
