KGNU is an independent, noncommercial community radio station in Boulder County, Colorado. Their goal is to "stimulate, educate and entertain, while reflecting the diversity of the local and world community, and providing a channel for individuals, groups, issues and music that have been overlooked, suppressed or under-represented by other media." "Connections" is a call-in show that airs on Fridays, and experiments with ways of connectings various issues. On July 11, 2003, Daniel Quinn was interviewed on the program by Duncan Campbell and discussed the childhood dream that inspired much of his work, his experiences as a novitiate monk working with Thomas Merton, the origins of his critical view of our educational systems, and the cultural mythology that keeps us locked into our current, unsustainable system. After a brief discussion of his latest novel, The Holy, Quinn then fielded calls from listeners.

KGNU offers streaming MP3 audio of Connections programs at its website. The interview with Daniel Quinn begins at approximately 2 minutes into the July 11, 2003 archived segment, and can be streamed directly from this link.
